Create a survey in Telugu
Write your survey in English. People who are more at home in Telugu pick తెలుగు and answer every question in it, on any phone — no translator, no second copy of the survey.
What respondents see
The same question, in Telugu
The screen on the right uses SurveySetu's real Telugu interface text. The question is an example of the kind of translation respondents get; your own questions are machine-translated when someone picks Telugu.

How it works
Running a survey for Telugu speakers
Build in English
Use the builder or a template. Short, plain sentences translate best.
Offer Telugu
In the survey's language settings, offer Telugu — alone or with others — and star it as the default if most of your audience reads it.
Respondents answer in Telugu
The survey opens with a language picker; respondents can switch language at the top of the screen at any time.
Results in one place
Choice answers from every language add up in the same charts, with a breakdown by language. Typed answers arrive exactly as written.
Telugu on SurveySetu: the details
- Telugu is written in the Telugu script. SurveySetu shows it with the phone's built-in Telugu font, so respondents don't download anything extra.
- Questions and answer options are machine-translated into Telugu, checked to really be in Telugu script, and cached, so everyone answering in Telugu sees the same wording.
- Place names in targeting and location questions are localised too, using their district and state as context.
- Setu can read each question aloud on tap with the phone's own Telugu voice. If a phone has no Telugu voice installed, the text still shows; only the read-aloud is unavailable.
Questions about surveys in Telugu
Do I have to write my survey in Telugu?
No. You build the survey in English and SurveySetu translates it into Telugu automatically when a respondent picks Telugu. You don't need a translator or a second version of the survey.
Can respondents type their answers in Telugu?
Yes. Open-text answers come back exactly as the respondent typed them, in Telugu (తెలుగు) or any other language, and choice answers from every language are counted together in the same chart.
Can I make Telugu the default language?
Yes. In the survey's language settings, offer Telugu (with or without the others) and star it as the default, so the survey opens in Telugu for everyone. Respondents can still switch language at the top of the screen.
Is the machine translation always perfect?
No machine translation is. Keep questions short and plain, avoid idioms and abbreviations, and open your survey link in the language yourself (or ask a native speaker) before you share it widely. If a translation service is briefly unavailable, a line can show in English until it is translated.
